Combining Pass Line And Come Bets In Online Craps

Published on: April 13, 2013

Expert online craps players wager only on the Pass Line and Come bets. The Pass Line bet has to be placed before a come out roll and the Come bet any time after the come out roll. Both bets have house edges of only 1.4%, which can be further reduced by using the free odds bets. Some online craps players use both the Pass Line and Come bets together. This article explains how it is done. It is being assumed that players are aware of basic online craps terms and game play.

The online craps player starts with a unit bet on the Pass Line. If the come out roll is 7 or 11 the bet automatically wins and the player is paid. If the throw is 2, 3 or 11 the bet automatically loses and the player’s chips are taken away. In either event the player has to make a fresh start. The other option in the come out roll is that a point is established. For the sake of convenience it is being assumed that the point is 4. The player must immediately place a free odds bet of the unit amount on Pass Line to reduce the house edge. The Pass Line and free odds bets have different payouts. The player must also place a unit amount Come bet. Only then must he activate the dice roll again.

The Pass Line and Come bets are tracked independently. The Pass Line bet is being considered first. If the next throw is a 7 then the Pass Line bet and the free odds bet lose. If the throw is the point, which is 4 in this case, then the Pass Line bet and the free odds bet win and are paid out. In either case the player has to start a new sequence with a unit Pass Line bet. If any other number is thrown, then the Pass Line and free odds bets continue. It is being assumed that this number is 9. For the Come bet, if the throw is a 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12 the bet is paid out or it loses and in both cases removed from the table. If the throw is a 9, then 9 becomes the point for the Come bet. The player should then place a unit free odds bet in conjunction with the Come bet so as to reduce its house edge.

Now the situation on the online craps table will be as follows. The existing bets are the Pass Line bet with its free odds bet and 4 as a point and the Come bet with its free odds bet and 9 as a point. If the next throw is a 7 then all bets lose and are removed from the table and the player starts completely afresh. If the next throw is a 4 then the Pass Line and its free odds bets win and are removed from the table. The player places a new Pass Line bet. If the throw is a 9 the Come and its free odds bets win and are removed from the table. The player starts with a new Come bet. For any other throw all bets remain on the table and the dice is rolled again.

The scenario described above has one Pass Line and one Come bet. The expert online craps players usually add Come bets as Come points are established. This makes the game much more exciting.
