Customization of Playing Environment

Online casino operators realize that all players are not the same and therefore they provide options by which the players can customize the playing environment in a manner that suits them. Some online casinos offer greater flexibility in the customization options than others, but there are standard features available at all casinos.

One of the options provided pertains to the size of the casino window. The window can cover the entire monitor and this mode is referred to as full screen mode. Alternatively the casino window can be of a smaller size so that the toolbars of the Windows software can be seen. Even in the smaller window the graphics are amply clear and normally would not take away from the gaming experience. If the player prefers to put the games in Auto Play and carry out some other work on the computer then he would prefer the smaller size. However if he finds the Windows toolbars a distraction then he can enable the full screen mode and get rid of the toolbars.

Online casino games have an audio element. These include the sounds of the roulette wheel spinning or the dice being rolled so as to add realism to the gaming experience. Another way that casino games are made more real is through dealers’ voices making announcements as in land casino games. Special sounds are introduced to indicate that players have won and are receiving payouts. Slot games have additional audio components in animations and as background music to make the games more interesting. By default the audio option is enabled in most software. Particularly new players enjoy playing with the audio enabled so that they can get the additional mileage from the gaming experience. However, the audio does not in any way influenced the outcome of the games. Many seasoned players find the audio a distraction. Therefore they would like to turn the audio off and play without any audio or they may even listen to music of their liking while waging at the online casinos. Such players can disable the audio option. Some software providers have a single audio option in which the player can take all the sounds or disable all the sounds. Other software providers distinguish between the various kind of audio inputs, such as game sounds, background sounds, dealers’ voices and win sounds. They allow players to enable or disable each kind of audio option independently.

The third customization option is the game speed. In the default mode the software runs the games at a speed that allows new players to figure out what is happening, particularly where payouts are concerned. Experienced players can grasp these intricacies immediately and do not need to be given time. Also many players are not really interested in figuring out how the payouts were arrived at because the software does not leave any room for error. Such players may like to play the games at a faster pace so that they can either complete their desired session in less time or get in more wagers in the allotted time. Online casinos therefore allow players to increase the game speeds. Some software providers have three or four different set speeds and allow players to choose from them. Other software providers allow players to set speeds on a continuous range.

New players should try out the different options available and determine what works best for them. Since the software allows players to customize the playing environment it is worth spending the few hours required upfront so that players get a better gaming experience from then on.
