Get the Edge to Maximize Your Chances of Winning in Oasis Poker

Of all of the different variations of casino poker out there, Oasis Poker could be the most difficult in terms of overall strategy for new players. The reason for this is that it combines one type of decision-making with the draw round and another type of decision-making with the decision to raise or fold, and it's rare to find players who intuitively make both types of decisions well. We're going to show you what you can do to get the house advantage as low as possible and boost your chances of winning in this game.

In the drawing round, you're never going to switch more than one card at a time. This is a sucker bet because you have to pay for each card you draw, and you can never overtake the house advantage when you draw two cards no matter what hand you're drawing to. If you have four cards to a flush or open-ended straight draw with no pair in your hand, then you should always go for that draw. However, if you have a low pair, you'll sometimes draw to a flush depending on the cards involved, though you'll never break it up for an open-ended straight draw.

After the drawing round is over, you have to make a decision about raising or folding with the hand you have. This decision should be independent of your drawing decision, and they shouldn't affect each other at all. If you have a pair or better, then you're going to always raise no matter what the dealer's card is. Along similar lines, if you have AQ-high or worse, then you'll always fold. This means that the vast majority of Oasis Poker hands are easy to play once you get to this stage.

However, playing AK-high hands can be tricky because you have to take into account your other three cards and the dealer's up-card. If the dealer's up-card is a queen or lower and matches one of yours, for example, then you should always raise because this lowers the dealer's chances of having a pair enough that raising becomes profitable. There are some other situations where you should raise as well like if the dealer's showing an ace or king and you have a queen in your hand. Otherwise, you just have to play these scenarios the best you can.
