Innovative Microgaming Online Blackjack Variant

Card players often wish that they had a time machine and could turn the deal for a few steps backwards, particularly when they played a wrong move or were extremely unlucky. However this is only wishful thinking because once a card is played there is no turning back. The leading online casino software developer Microgaming is ever sensitive to the wishes of its players. It has recently launched an online blackjack variant in which the players can redeal certain cards. This game is titled European Blackjack Redeal Gold Series. The player can redeal his hand, or the dealer’s hand or his last card subject to certain conditions. However, a ride on this time machine is not free. Players have to pay a price if they want to activate the redeal option.

Microgaming European Blackjack Redeal is a Gold Series game and therefore it is played in an exclusive casino environment. Other than the rules for the redeal option, there are certain other rules that the players should know about. This blackjack variant is based on the European blackjack format and therefore no hole card is dealt to the dealer. Obviously the dealer cannot check for blackjack upfront. The dealer stands on all hand values of 17 and the blackjack game is played with two decks. Both these rules offer a slight advantage to the player. The insurance bet is not available. Detailed rules have been specified for the split and double down moves and these can be accessed by moving the cursor over the Games Rules icon on the screen.

The redeal rules form the core of this online blackjack variant. Players can exercise the redeal option up to a maximum of five times per hand. Three different types of redeals are available. Redeal My Hand removes all the cards dealt to the player and the two pocket cards are dealt again. Redeal Last Card removes the last card dealt to the player and replaces it with another one. Redeal Dealer Hand deals the dealer’s hand all over again. There are some conditions attached to these redeal options. If the player busts then he cannot exercise Redeal Dealer Hand option. However the other two redeal options can be exercised after the player busts. No redeal is allowed if the player is dealt a blackjack, reaches a hand value of 21, after a split or after a double down. Each redeal option displays the redeal cost so that the player can take a considered decision before exercising the option.

The game play for the redeal option functions as follows. As soon as the pocket cards are dealt the player has the option to redeal his hand or the dealer’s hand. As soon as the player is dealt the first card, the option to redeal his last card becomes live. The more disadvantageous the situation is for the player the higher will be the redeal cost. Normally the cost of the redeal will be less than the player’s ante wager, because that is the maximum amount that the player can win. However, once the player busts, the cost of redeal may exceed the ante wager.

European Blackjack Redeal Gold Series is live at all Microgaming online casinos such as All Slots, Platinum Play, River Belle and Spin Palace.
