Wan Doy Pairs Poker

Online casino poker games tend to be based on five card hand rankings. Even Pai Gow Poker in which seven cards are dealt has the five card hand as the main hand. The reason that Wan Doy Pairs Poker elicits interest is that it compares a seven card hand with a set of completely different hand rankings.
Wan Doy Pairs Poker is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards, which is shuffled before every deal. The individual cards are ranked as in poker but the hand rankings are different. The hand rankings in descending order are four of a kind and three of a kind, four of a kind and pair, three of a kind and three of a kind, three of a kind and two pairs, four of a kind, three pairs, three of a kind and pair, three of a kind, two pairs, one pair and then all other hands (described as “no hand” in the game).
Ante and bonus bets of the same amount are required to start the game. Before the cards are dealt the optional jackpot bet can also be placed. The player is dealt seven cards face up and the dealer is dealt seven cards face down. The player’s cards are automatically arranged into the highest possible hand ranking and this prevents the player from making any mistake. The player has to decide whether to call or fold. If the player decides to call then he must place a call bet equal to the ante bet. If the player decides to fold then he will lose the ante and bonus bets. The jackpot bet will stand.
If the player calls then the dealer’s hand is exposed and both hands are compared. If the player has the higher ranked hand then the ante and call bets pay out even money. If the player has the lower ranked hand then the ante and call bets lose. If both hands are tied then the ante and call bets push. The bonus bet payouts are as follows. If the player has a three of a kind or higher ranked hand then the bonus bet pays out as per the bonus bet payout table, irrespective of the outcome of the main bet. If the player has less than three of a kind hand and the player’s hand wins then the bonus bet pushes. If the player has less than three of a kind hand and ties with or loses to the dealer then the bonus bet loses. The jackpot bet is handled in the following manner. If either the player’s hand or the dealer’s hand are ranked three pairs or higher then the jackpot bet pays out as per the jackpot bet payout table. If the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand both qualify then payouts are made for both hands.
Wan Doy Pairs Poker strategy is as follows. The house edge for the main game is 1.9%, which places it somewhere between blackjack and European Roulette. Players will have to take their individual decisions on whether or not to play. If they decide to play then the optimum strategy is to call if dealt any pair or higher. The house edge of the jackpot bet is over 7%. Therefore this bet should never be placed despite the top payout of 5,000 to 1. Wan Doy Pairs Poker can be played at WagerWorks online casinos.
