The hit reality series, Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker is back for it’s second season.  The long awaited series will begin filming within the next couple of months in the beautiful setting of Antigua and will air later on in the year.  What makes this series special is that the top prize will be the largest award in reality tv show history, a package worth $2 million.  The prize consists of $1 million in cash and a $1 million contract to play poker with Bodog (the online poker room founded by Ayre).

The first season of Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker featured 20 online qualifiers battling it out against 10 celebrities (including, American Pies Shannon Elizabeth, Survivors “Boston” Rob Moriano and comedian Cheryl Hines) and 10 poker professional (including Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren and Josh Arieh) in beautiful Costa Rica.  The winner of the six part series was poker pro Josh Arieh, who took home a grand prize of $500,000.

Along with the huge increase in the prize amount, the sequel to the series will feature a number of other changes.  Firstly, there will be no celebrities or pros taking part in this seasons competition.  The show will follow the journey of 12 contestants, 11 who will be hand picked by the shows producers and 1 who will be the winner  the Bodog qualifying tournament.  The shows namesake and billionaire, Calvin Ayre played host last season and will return as host this year.

If you would like to audition for the show just simply go to Bodog.com and open a free account with them.  Next, create a one minute video outlining why you should be considered for the show, fill out an audition form and upload your video by April 28th.  (In order to be eligible you must earn 300 points playing poker at Bodog.com).

Alternatively, you can win your way onto the show by being the sole online qualifier.  Qualifying tournaments are currently being held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening until April 25th.  The top five players in each qualifier will automatically be entered to play in the final tournament taking place on April 28th.  The winner of this tournament will be a contestant on the TV show and will have a 1 in 12 shot at the $2 million prize.

Calvin Ayres Wild Card Poker II is just one of the many successful undertakings for Bodog Entertainment.  Other accomplishments for the group include, an international record label, BodogFight (a martial arts tv series), a publishing division featuring an online magazine and blog, a million dollar band search competition, a renowned party and events department and of course a leading online casino, poker room , horse betting and sportsbook.
