Published on: December 10, 2007

The Las Vegas Hilton will become the heart of the strip on December 11th, 2007, when they host the first Celebrity Poker Tournament to raise money for the TJ Martell Foundation. Robin Leach has been chosen and agreed to be the Master of Ceremonies, many others have confirmed they will be in attendance, and competition.

The TJ Martell Foundation benefits three primary causes, leukemia, cancer as well as AIDS research. Each of these has touched the lives of many people at one time or another, with that in mind, many celebrities plan to compete. Being played for the duration of the National Finals Rodeo Week in Las Vegas, it is anticipated to see many of the country music stars and competitive rodeo stars to play across the felt from so many other well-known celebrity faces.

To enter the tournament there is a 500 USD buy in, plus 40 USD registration fee. This event will be open to re-buys and add-ons. All the re-buys, add-ons will be coupled with any additional proceeds from the tournament, for the benefit of the research foundation. Currently the foundation is the primary supporter of 8 research hospitals across the United States.

The size of the event has been limited to 150 players. The bubble player will be the one busted out at 119th place, and from that point there will be 120 who will cash in this event. The cashes will be paid from the 50 thousand USD prize pool. The commencement ceremony will be held along side a charity auction, which will begin at 11am on the 11th of December. The anticipated celebrity poker tournament will begin an hour later, at 12pm local time. The charity auction will be open to the public as the event will be additional revenue for the TJ Martell Foundation.

There are some seats still open to help raise money and awareness for this fantastic cause; the registration form and complete details can be seen at the TJMartellFoundation.org website. An additional option for registration is by phone – 800-457-3307. Remember space is limited and time is coming close, so this event should fill up quickly.

Should this become the anticipated success the event will be hosted at the Hilton every year it is needed. Becoming the Heart of Las Vegas is something the Hilton will arrange annually in the effort to see the research for these very touching causes become more thoroughly funded, until there is a cure for each illness.
