College Students Could Get 9000USD Poker Scholarships

Published on: November 21, 2008

If you are a college student in North America and Canada, you have a chance to win $9,000 in college tuition money by being the winner of the North American Online Poker Championships.  The competition is being sponsored by LifeOfSport.com and CakePoker.com and features a twenty-eight week Texas Hold’Em poker round of tournaments, the winner of which gets the $9,000.  The promotion is a way to attract younger players to the websites, and in addition to the tuition money the winner will also win a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico, a prize package worth $20,000.

The championship will be held in May 2009, and there will be weekly free roll tournaments at the two sites to determine the top three finishers from each to move on to the final tournament.  Interested students can become ambassadors for the Championship poker tournament, and every hour they are able to market the tournament they will earn money just like they were working a regular job.  The goal of the two websites is to spread the work to as many people as possible so that they all have a chance of winning money for college.

Said Chris Neville, the marketing director for LifeOfSports.com, “This is the only tournament of its kind in the country.  This is the only free play contest solely for university students and is for North American students only.”

The competition is open to any registered college or university student in the United States and Canada and 84 players will be left standing for the final rounds to be held in May.  CakePoker.com is licensed by Curacao and is a dedicated poker room while LifeOfSports is an online casino, sports book and poker room.  Students interested in working the championship are advised to contact Chris Nevile at LifeOfSports for additional information about the championship and the work.

The trip to Cancun is all inclusive, and in addition to the poker tournaments winners and a guest, another lucky student will win a trip to the city for Spring Break.  All they have to do is refer college friends to the tournament and then sit back and wait.  Students can win this chance simply by referring their friends to the site and tournament.  Participants can participate in this chance by sending in a spreadsheet that tracks links available on the website with the top referrer of each month the competition runs.
