Full Tilt Offers Heads-Up World Championship

Online poker room Full Tilt Poker is hosting the largest heads-up tournament ever – and that means online or live.  Starting on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 3pm eastern standard time, players can move through this $25,000 Heads-Up World Championship in an attempt to make it the final two rounds.  The final rounds will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 4pm eastern standard time.  How much is the buy-in you ask? $25,000.

The tournament is going to be hosted by Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson, the current NBC National Heads-Up Champion and one of Full Tilt Poker’s poker professionals.  Many of Full Tilt’s pros are planning on joining in the fun, including Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Gus Hansen, and Howard Lederer to name a few.  Sixty-four players maximum will have the chance to go head to head with these poker greats and be named the Heads-Up World Champion.

The tournament will be comprised of single-elimination, heads-up matches from start to finish.  If you want to play but don’t have an extra $25,000 hanging around, Full Tilt will accept tournament dollars for the buy-in.  Or they are welcome to play in one of the online qualifiers to earn a seat.  Buy-ins for the qualifiers is $500 with a $35 add-on that started on Thursday, May 22.  There will be another qualifier available on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 9pm eastern standard time for anyone who missed Thursday’s event.

Of course, players don’t have to actually play in the tournament to enjoy the action.  Any poker fan can log on to Full Tilt poker to simply watch the action and cheer on their favorite players in this fast paced event.  Players can watch key hands and matches that they missed thanks to Full Tilt’s replay option and post-event commentary.  Ali Nejad and Chris Ferguson will provide an analysis of the hands so that players and fans alike understand why some went on and others did not.
