Intertops online casino announced that they will be opening Red Casino by the end of August.  Red Casino has been undergoing changes recently.  The casino will no longer be powered by Microgaming software.  Instead the online casino will be under Real Time Gaming or RTG.  Intertops has had a few problems with Microgaming in the last few months.

Microgaming left the US market, which is a large country to be in.  The difficulties in the United States market make it troublesome for many of the online casinos.  It is especially troublesome because the European Union has not been able to change the US laws regarding online casinos.  Microgaming is one of the many that have left the market.  However, Intertops did not want to succumb to the pressure.  Real Time Gaming is one of the only online casino software companies still operating in the United States.

Executives of the online casino stated that they were unhappy with Microgamings decision, which stemmed from the Kentucky domain name seizure case that presented a legal challenge to the online casinos through the government.  In May the company announced they had plans for two casinos; the Green and the Red casinos.  The Green casino would be powered by Microgaming.  This would allow the non US players to still get their favourite games.  The US players also get a chance to play at online casinos with the RTG powered Red Casino.

Unfortunately Microgaming was not happy with this idea.  They did not want the casino to have both software companies.  To make sure this didn’t happen Micrograming immediately withdrew their service from Intertops online casino.  They are also credited with preventing Intertops from operating under two systems.  Microgaming is planning on re-entering the market as soon as the federal regulators change the laws.  There have been bills introduced this year to help the online casino market open up again.

For now Intertops has Red Casino running 350 new games, large jackpots, and Real Time Gaming software.  UK players may have lost their favourite games at Intertops with Microgaming, but they may just find that Real Time Gaming has some great games as well.

Intertops will have to wait and see if they made the right decision.  It could cause a loss of UK players, which may not help even with the US market being back online through their Red Casino.  One thing is certain. Intertops does not plan on leaving either market.
