Playtech Casino Software and Scientific Games Pair Up
Published on: January 24, 2010
The lottery has been around for more years than most people realise. It started in the middle ages, and perhaps even before that when you consider the history of Ancient China. Many online casinos tend to offer Keno, Bingo, Poker, Slot Machines, Table Games, and even arcade games. However, lottery is not something we typically hear about in online casinos. Playtech is one of the largest online casino software companies.
Recently they made a deal with Scientific Games. The new venture is going to offer a fifty- fifty split in which Scientific Games and Playtech will get into the state lotteries at various international countries. The venture is to be called Sciplay. It will have lottery contracts with the government in a B2G contract.
Already Scientific Games has 120 customers worldwide. Even UK National Lottery Operator Camelot is a part of the deal, as well as the Chinese State Government. Scientific Games has produced about eight million state Sports Lottery scratch cards for China each year.
Now Playtech is going to bring this online. Part of this new group is Richard Weil, who works as President of Fun Technologies. He will be the managing director of the new company. Chief Executives are Mor Weizer from Playtech and Mike Chambrello from Scientific Games. They released a statement to talk about the lottery venture. They both stated they want this venture to be a leverage of the combined knowledge they both have.
Customers will be able to benefit from the move because online players will have a highly secure, regulated, and compliance oriented site to go to. The players will know they can trust the company and have a chance at winning. The deal is also going to help other sites get in with B2G deals. Bwin, PartyGaming, Paddy Power, and Dragonfish are already looking at how it can help them and how they can get into the lottery market.
The new venture has also tied up Videobet for it. They have developed terminals for Scientific Games and The Global Draw. There are already 18,000 server based gaming machines as part of this. For those interested in lottery it will now be even easier. There are certainly new moves going on for 2010. Yet, the US is still holding firm on their online casino ban. Luckily for the UK they have open doors for any type of gambling fun.
